Established under the visionary leadership of Former North Atlantic Regional Director Erma W. Barron, our mission is to meet the pressing needs of our community through impactful initiatives.

The Chapter
Tau Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was established under Former North Atlantic Regional Director Erma W. Barron’s leadership to address the need for leadership, service, fortitude, and sisterhood in the Hamden area. Currently, the chapter actively engages in charitable initiatives, including donating essential items to local shelters, participating in “Pink Goes Red” for Heart Health, and joining walks for Ovarian and Breast Cancer Awareness.
